Jason LaCanfora from the NFL Network is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles have signed second round selection S Nate Allen via Twitter. LaCanfora reports that Allen has signed a 4 year deal and no monetary issues regarding the contract were revealed.

National Football Post reports that Eagles QB Mike Vick is not going to have to sit over the birthday party that recently got him in trouble in Virgina: The big bang at the end of Michael Vick’s 30th birthday party will not cost him time in the NFL. According to a report by Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News, the league completed its investigation into the party at which Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in Vick’s federal dogfighting trial, was shot.

Pitts will be playing somewhere, just not in Philly. According to Les Bowen of Philly.com, the Eagles don’t appear to be too interested in former Houston Texans guard Chester Pitts. The Eagles have been brought up repeatedly as a landing spot for Pitts, but it seemed unlikely from the get-go as they still have faith in Stacy Andrews and always have a slew of young guys waiting in the wings as backups.

Another player under contract wants a new deal, this time the speedy WR DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles. Players with multiple years left on their contracts, wanting new deals is become NFL chic this offseason, with the biggest gripe coming from Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson. Johnson was due to earn 550,000.00 dollars this season and agreed to a pay increase earlier this week and will see approximately 2 million in 2010 after rushing for over 2000 yards last season. DeSean Jackson has expressed dissatisfaction over his contract, 4 years-three million dollars, but has not threatened any sort of holdout

I think that as the Eagles get closer and closer to Training Camp, there are many more people worried about the Eagles defense than the offense. This is with good reason as there was a lot of inconsistency on the defensive side of the ball last year.
